FAQs

What is your capacity?
We have a capacity of 120,000,000 sachets. We work with a range of businesses in many industries, who are ordering between 50,000 – 20,000,000 sachets per annum.
What are the MOQs?
A 25k per variant
Why is the MOQ set a 25k?
This is due to the speed of the machine and the length of time it takes to set up for production, it would not be commercially viable for us to set up on less than 25k of each bulk variant.
Can I split this 25k across various artworks if I use the same bulk?
Technically yes, there are 6 lanes on the machine, and we can print on the flexo printed film 6 artwork impressions across the web, so you could use the same bulk across 6 different artworks.  There may be a requirement or cost to sort the sachets however.
Can I split the 25k across various artworks and various bulks?
We're afraid not, the MOQ for each bulk variant is 25k due to the speed of the machine.
Is there any way I can have a smaller number of sachets,
say 1k – 10k to test the market prior to ordering the larger MOQ of 25k?
We could provide a quote to supply you with a small number (say less than 50) mock up samples, which would be hand cut, hand filled, and hand sealed for you to approve and test the market with. Or we could outsource this request to a co-packing partner who has a smaller machine in Europe which can do smaller runs.
What about a mock-up? Can I get some printed samples to test and approve before I commit?
Absolutely, we could provide you with a quote for a small number (say less than 50) mock up samples, which would be hand cut, hand filled, and hand sealed for you to approve and test.
What are the lead-times?
Currently we’re working on a 8-10 week lead-time for the PP Alox film and a 4-6 week lead-time the Alu-based film but these lead-times are an estimate so we’ll always provide you more accurate timings once we have received you PO and we have placed orders with our suppliers.
How will I know if my formulation is compatible with the sachets?
We always perform basic compatibility testing on your formulation to check its compatible with the Snappd material. All we need is 100ml of product, the MSDS, INCI and/or Ingredient list.
How do I know which sachet is right for my fill size?
There are fill level ranges on the price list to help to understand which fill level is applicable to each fill size, but we can also help with this and test this for you as I understand that viscosity also plays a part in what fill level is best for each sachet.
How can I explain to my customer how to open and dispense from the sachet?
Don’t worry we can provide you with some pictograms to add to your artwork which will help to educate your customer. We recommend adding this to the back of the pack.
Can you fill powders and granules into the sachets?
This is an ambition for the future, and we’d be happy to chat to you about a powder or granular fill, although to be completely honest, we’re a little ways off this right now.
How long is the shelf life on these sachets?
If your formulation is compatible with the Snappd sachet material across all 3 weeks of the accelerated compatibility testing, then we can usually recommend up to a 3-year shelf life of the sachet.
Would you fill my product into the sachet with or without air inside once its sealed?
We can minimise the oxygen space within the sachet but cannot guarantee total absence of air.
Can you do line trials for approval?
Sometimes production request a line trial on bulk they are wanting to perform due diligence on, to make sure the bulk is compatible with the machine, machine parts, and the pumps etc. In this case it would be performed using 2-3kg of bulk and we would use test film we have available, but this would be tagged onto the end of another production run and would be an exception.
If my product is not suitable for sachets, is there another supplier would you recommend and why?
If your product is more suitable to a standard sachet then we would recommend Design Plus.
Do you perform compatibility and Stability?
Yes, we perform compatibility but not formal stability.
Do you recommend a testing house for full stability and challenge testing?
ADSL, Marfleet Analytical Services, or Global Cosmetic Development Ltd
How much product do you need me to send to you for the compatibility testing?
100ml of each variant.
How will you communicate the compatibility results?
We will provide you with a compatibility study report.
How much does the compatibility cost?
This is normally free of charge.
How long will this compatibility testing take?

We perform this for 3 weeks at an accelerated temperature of 54 degrees.
What other tests do you perform on samples?
If requested we can perform stress test, freezer test of -20 degrees, and a pressure test.
What tests do you perform on product bulk to ensure this is suitable to be taken to the line for production?
We review the bulk sample at compat stage and if the production manager feels that a line trial could be suitable then we will perform this and request 2-3kg of your bulk to facilitate this request.

Can I attend the production run to sign off the production standard?
Yes of course.
Can I have product samples to sign off and approve if I do not attend the production run?
Yes of course.
What level of quality inspections are performed during the production run?

If there are any issues how and when will this be communicated to me?
If there is an issue which affects the full production or completion of production, we will communicate this with you immediately via phone and in email.

PP Alox is 100% kerb side recyclable, so this can be thrown into the Blue Bin at home in the UK and EU. Alu-Based film is recyclable with specialist collection companies such as Teracycle.
Please can you explain the difference in film types and the sustainability of these?
PP Alox is 100% kerb side recyclable, this has an Aluminium pain as the barrier layer. Alu-Based film has an aluminium foil barrier layer and is available in the event that your product requires a stringer barrier property.
Is the sachet subject to plastic tax?

Yes, at the moment we don’t include PCR content into the film as this would affect the efficacy of the film, but it is something we are working on for the future.
Who should pay the tax if this is applicable?
The end user pays the tax, and this is passed down the chain supply using the same principle as VAT.
What is the carbon footprint of the sachet?
The sachet materials are sourced within Nort America where possible and within Europe where not possible.   We are able to provide a comparison with other common packaging methods demonstrating the unrivalled advantage of the sachet in units per pallet.
